After several failed levy attempts and another on the ballot for May 4, the Streetsboro Education Association has accepted a pay freeze on teacher salaries for the upcoming school year. The freeze is expected to save the district over $150,000. According to the Record Courier, the school board accepted the decision of the education association and praised the organization for its support.
Flights are often delayed to inclement weather, but how about volcanic ash?

John Kernich, father of murdered Kent State student Christopher M. Kernich, took the stand in the first day of testimony in the trial of Adrian Barker.
Kernich’s father gave a heartfelt description of his son to the jury. He shared memories of Chris taking to sports at an early age, becoming a football star at Fairborn High School.
“Every time he brought a friend home, it was a different friend,” Mr. Kernich said of his son’s personality.
Kent City Police Officer Benjamin Darrah and Police Captain Gregory J. Urcheck were also called as witnesses.
